Interim Housing

Homeless families with dependent children in need of immediate emergency housing may call 925-957-7568 to apply for a room at Mountain View House. This facility can accommodate 7 families (up to 30 people).  Residents meet regularly with a case manager who assists with locating a placement in long term housing.   If you are receiving services from a county or nonprofit agency, please contact your worker for an expedited referral.  If you don’t have a worker, please call one of the numbers at the top of this page for further information. 

Transitional Housing

SHELTER operates temporary housing for homeless families in two apartment buildings in East Contra Costa County. Additional temporary housing is offered to homeless families and individuals in apartment units scattered throughout Contra Costa County.  Residents pay rent equal to 30% of their adjusted monthly income.  Clients meet regularly with a case manager to locate and secure permanent housing.  Other services include vocational training, life skills workshops, and literacy training.  If you are receiving services from a county or nonprofit agency, please contact your worker for an expedited referral.
