Our Vision
SHELTER, Inc. is working to realize a vision: A Home For Everyone. Everyday, one family at a time, SHELTER, Inc. staff and volunteers help people find and keep homes. An innovative leader in homeless services, SHELTER, Inc. helps over 3,000 Contra Costan residents each year.

The Need
A homeless count conducted on a single day found that there were 4,157 homeless people countywide. Of those, 1,086 were individuals in families and 321 were children. As the economy sheds jobs and housing costs soar, a person earning the California minimum wage of $8.00 would have to work 119 hours a week or work 3.0 full-time jobs to afford a two-bedroom apartment in Contra Costa County.

Thanksgiving Food Drive Help Needed
